Jaworki is a small village nestled in the Grajcarek Valley, a few kilometers southeast of Szczawnica. The village is best known as a starting point for some of the region’s most beautiful hiking trails.

From here, it’s easy to reach the Homole Gorge or Wysoka — the highest peak in the Pieniny Mountains — offering sweeping views over the Pieniny, Tatras, and Beskids. Those preferring gentler walks can explore the Biała Woda Nature Reserve, with its softer terrain framed by limestone cliffs and green meadows.

In winter, Jaworki attracts skiers to the modern Jaworki-Homole Ski Arena, which caters to both beginners and more experienced enthusiasts.

The village also has an intriguing history. Once inhabited by Lemkos and the Rusyns of Szlachtowa, it still preserves traces of their culture. The most notable example is the 18th-century Church of St. John Chrysostom (originally a Greek Catholic church), which now serves as a Roman Catholic parish. Its highlight is a multi-tiered Rococo iconostasis.
