Located in a former border guard station at 37 Łemkowska Street, the Józef Szalay Pieniny Museum is a branch of the Museum of Nowy Sącz Land. Since the mid-1950s, it has collected artifacts connected to the culture and history of the region — from a Rusyn ethnographic exhibition, through photographs of the Pieniny Mountains and the Dunajec River, to the history of Szczawnica as a spa town.

The Szlachtowa branch has been operating since 2014, showcasing local borderland heritage, highlander customs, and the role of the former border station. The museum is open daily except Mondays, and also hosts temporary exhibitions and workshops presenting regional crafts and folk art.

Szlachtowa is a place worth visiting — not only for the natural beauty of the Small Pieniny, but above all for its spiritual and historical depth.
